Henrique, who played the opening 45 minutes against Al-Ahly on Sunday, shares his final experiences in London with www.fcbarcelona.cat.
“Today we played our last match before returning to Barcelona. We beat Al-Ahly 4-1. I was
able to play in the starting line-up, once again with Muniesa at centre back. From the very first
minute I was less nervous and more comfortable and I think that helped me play better. They put a
bit of pressure on us in the first half but in general we were much better and we deserved to win
by a wide margin.
We arrive back in Barcelona this afternoon [Sunday] and we’ve got the day off on
Monday, which is always good after an intense start to the preseason. On Tuesday morning
we’re all back in training together and so I’ll get the chance to meet the rest of my
team-mates, such as Puyol, Piqué, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Alves, as well as Ibrahimovic.
But this doesn’t stop here and on Wednesday we’re off again to the USA where
there’ll be three more opponents waiting for us. Little by little, we’ll be getting
fitter but we can’t relax because in August we have two official trophies at stake.
I’ll keep on working hard to gain the manager’s trust and make my presence felt in this
team, which is my objective.
So that’s the end of my blog. I’ve really enjoyed writing it and sharing all my
thoughts and feelings with you.
A warm embrace to you all. See you soon”.
