Twelve days of frenetic activity in the US

This Wednesday the first team sets out on its twelve-day tour of the West Coast of the USA. The official tour programme features three games, lots of training sessions and some institutional events.
For the second season in a row FC Barcelona is going on a summer tour of the US, this time round to
the West Coast cities of Los Angeles, Seattle and San Francisco.
This Wednesday the team leaves El Prat on a 10.30 am flight to Los Angeles. After a journey
of around twelve hours, they will land at 2 pm local time in the US and train for the first time at
7 pm at UCLA.
Three aspects: sports, promotional and institutional
Morning and evening sessions will be a constant during the twelve-day
tour. The squad will also attend commercial and institutional events, such as the Nike-FCB
promotional function on Thursday featuring the team and members of the club’s Board. The
players will interact with kids and the club through Nike will donate a playground to the city of
Los Angeles.
The Board members will then meet members of the LA Barça Supporters’ Club at the team
hotel.
On Friday evening Barça are to train at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, the venue for the
tour’s first game. At the same time LA Galaxy, with the presence of local institutions, will
meet the Barça Board to underline the charity alliance between FCB and Malaria No More.
Debut in Los Angeles and trip to Seattle
The first game on the US tour will be on Saturday 1 August against Los
Angeles Galaxy in the Rose Bowl (8 pm). The following day the squad will train and then head off
for Seattle. Once there, on Monday there is to be an event hosted by the Seattle Sounders featuring
the team and Board members to set out to local organisations the implementation of the ‘More
than a Club in the World' project, the activities of the FCB Foundation and the club’s global
alliance with UNICEF.
Visit to Microsoft and game with Sounders
On Tuesday, after a training session open to the public, the Barça party will visit
Microsoft’s HQ and House of the Future where they will be greeted by senior management. The
following day Barça are to play their second friendly of the tour against the Seattle Sounders at
Qwest Field Stadium (7.30 pm).
Last station: San Francisco
The last stop on the US tour will be San Francisco where Barça will
arrive on Thursday. The city is to host the third and last game in the US, on Saturday (8 pm)
against Mexican outfit Chivas Guadalajara in Candlestick Park. As soon as the game finishes, Barça
will return to Barcelona where they are expected to arrive at 8.15 pm.
