Pedro signs new deal

The Canary Island born winger has signed an improved deal with the senior squad until 2014. The release clause has been set at 75 million euros.
Club president Joan Laporta and Pedro Rodríguez Ledesma signed the new contract, which officialises
his definite inclusion in the senior squad, at the Club’s offices on Thursday morning. The
contract remains until June 2014 but the release clause has been raised to 75 million euros.
Pedro has played seven matches so far in the
2009/10 season. He is the top scorer in the preseason with four goals, the last coming in the match
against Bilbao. Pep Guardiola announced that Pedro would make the definite step up to the senior
squad during the tour of the USA
A product of the Masía youth academy
He joined FC Barcelona on 1st August 2004 from CD San Isidro. He passed through Juvenil A,
Barça C and the reserve squad before making his first team debut on matchday 19 of the 2007/08
season.
Under Guardiola, the winger became one of the
revelations of the start of last season thanks to his ability to create danger on both wings and
his tireless work rate. He then alternated appearances with the reserves and the first team. He
played six matches in the league, four in the Champions League and three in the Cup.
