Busy weeks ahead for Guardiola’s team
Sandra Sarmiento / Anna Segura
Once the international break is over, Barca face a gruelling 22 days with seven games to play including the start of their campaign to retain the Champions League trophy.
With so many players off on international duty, Guardiola will have little time to prepare his
squad, with the majority not expected back in Barcelona till Thursday or Friday this week and a
tough three weeks of La Liga and Champions League action ahead.
Trip to Getafe
After their successful start against Sporting, Guardiola’s team
play their first away game in the league at 18.00 on Saturday when they travel to Getafe, who
started their campaign with an impressive 1-4 win at Racing Santander.
Champions League kicks off
The following Wednesday, September 16th, it’s Champions League action, again on the
road, as Barca visit Italian Champions Inter Milan for their first Group Stage game.
Three league games in a week
There are three league games the following week, starting with the
visit of Atletico Madrid on the weekend of 19th/20th, with the first of this season’s four
midweek league fixtures on 23rd against Racing in Santander, followed by a trip to Malaga on the
weekend of 26th/27th.
Dynamo first Champions League guests at Nou Camp
The first of this season’s home Champions League games sees Dynamo Kiev visit the Nou
Camp on 29th September, with the visit of Almeria wrapping up the gruelling schedule on the
following weekend.
