Maxwell: "Iniesta is unique"
David Puig
Maxwell is delighted to see Iniesta back in the squad, and also commented that although they are short of time to get ready for Getafe, the team will be up to the task.
Maxwell was speaking after training on Wednesday, and commented on how much he admires his new team
mate. "It is very important for the team to get Iniesta back because he’s a unique player
with great qualities. He makes it all look so easy on the pitch and he can decide a game on his
own. He’s getting his form back and it will be a pleasure to play alongside such a class
player ".
No excuses against Getafe
Maxwell is aware that they only have one full day together before they
are away to Getafe: "It is an uncomfortable situation for us because it’s hard to work with
so many players away and Getafe might have a bit of an advantage" he said. "But we’re not
looking for excuses. We are a good group and with such strength we’ll be able to get through
the match. Also, the coach knows exactly how we should play it and I don’t think the absence
of the internationals will end up being a problem".
Bittersweet feelings
As a Brazilian, Maxwell is delighted his country will be at the 2010 World Cup, but is also
concerned about the fact that Leo Messi could be missing out. "I am very pleased that Brazil have
gone though but it is sad to see that a team of such tradition as Argentina could miss out on the
World Cup. Also, we all want Leo to be happy, because if his morale is high, he’ll help us
more. But they still have a chance and if they start winning matches I’m sure they’ll
qualify ".
