16 years since an epic night

Dynamo Kiev return to the Camp Nou sixteen years after one of the most dramatic European nights the stadium has ever witnessed. An amazing 4-1 comeback win saw Barça go into the last sixteen of the Champions League.
FC Barcelona started their 1993/94 Champions League campaign in Kiev. Dynamo won the home leg 3-1,
meaning Barça had a lot of work to do back home if they wanted to make it into the next round.
The Camp Nou saw the very best of the Dream Team as the game ended 4- 1 and saw Cruyff and
his boys qualify in style. Sixteen years after that game, which was also played on September 29,
and two sides are set to meet again in the same competition.
End to end stuff
Barça had to go full on to beat the Ukrainians. And they did. The game
was only nine minutes old when Laudrup gave FCB the lead, and Bakero added a second that meant the
Catalans were momentarily through. But still in the first half, Rebrov produced a twist in the tale
by scoring, and Barcelona were once again playing catch up.
Bakero and Koeman seal the deal
FC Barcelona came out stronger than ever in the second half, and after
five minutes Bakero scored – for the time being the game was heading for extra time. But then
Ronald Koeman produced the winner from a trademark free kick, and Barça were into the last sixteen.
If the game at the Camp Nou on Tuesday can match that one for excitement, then it will be a
game no football fan can afford to miss.
