Shevchenko likely to play

According to Dynamo coach Valeriy Gazzaev, Andrei Shevchenko should be included his starting line-up despite breaking his nose in the last league match.
The striker has been doubtful for Tuesday’s match but speaking at the pre-match press
conference, Dynamo coach Gazzaez assured reporters: “He’s OK. I hope he will be in the
line-up”. Shevchenko broke his nose last Friday in a league game against Zorya Lugansk.
'Sheva’ returns to the Camp Nou
Dynamo Kiev appeared on the Camp Nou pitch at about 8 pm for their only
training session before Tuesday night’s match. Shevchenko was last here with Dynamo in the
1997/98 season, when the Ukrainians beat Barça 0-4 thanks to a hat trick from Shevchenko.
He’s been back here since with Milan and Chelsea and is back here now on his 33rd birthday.
A different match
Dynamo coach Valeriy Gazzaev believes that the 1997/98 0-4 defeat will have no effect on
Tuesday’s match. “12 years have gone by and there’s another generation, another
team”. In his opinion, it will be a completely different match, “with modern strategic
football”.
Gazzaev is aware of the challenge of playing the reigning European champions but is quietly
confident: “Barça is the best team in the world at the moment but we have seen how they play
and we are prepared”.
