Home grown goals
Sandra Sarmiento
Seventeen of Barca's 25 goals so far this season have been scored by players who've come up through the Masia. Messi heads the scorers with 8 goals to his name so far.
The home grown stars dominated the pre-season with Bojan, Pedro and Jeffren all proving decisive
and once the season proper got under way Xavi. Messi and Pique joined the scoring. The Masia
players have proved key to the success of the team so far, scoring 68% of the team's goals.
Messi the leading scorer
The Argentinian has notched up 8 goals so far : two in the second leg
of the Spanish Super Cup, five more in the league and one in the Champions League against Dinamo
Kiev. What's more he's shown the full range of his scoring skills in taking the goals.
Pedro
It's not been overnight scoring success for Pedro, who failed to score at all in the
15 games he featured in in his first season.
When he did score though, he really chose the right moment, grabbing an important opener at
San Mames in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup, following that with the winning strike against
Shaktar in the European Super Cup. Last week he got the second against Dynamo Kiev and the winner
against Almeria at the weekend.
Great start from Bojan
Bojan had a great pre-season, which he followed up with two goal sin
the Spanish Super Cup and another in the League opener against Sporting de Gijon. Unfortunately he
also got injured in that game and was out until October 2. He's back in training now and sure to be
a boost to the squad in the coming games.
Piqué
Pique has already bagged two goals, one less than he managed all last
season. He finished off a great assist from Ibrahimovic against Racing and came on from the bench
to score in style in the win at Malaga. Both goals had the mark of a classic centre......forward!
Xavi
The scene: San Mamés. The second leg of the Spanish Super Cup. Barca
1-0 down. Then Xavi fires a home a great goal to start the comeback. The Catalan midfielder had
begun the fight for the 5 Cups.
