Training in the rain
Edgar Fornós / Anna Segura
The Thursday training session took place under intensive rain. Dani Alves was absent after getting injured in the Champions league game with Rubin Kazan.
The main protagonist in Thursday’s training session was water. It
was a wet and stormy day all over Catalonia, and Josep Guardiola and his players were due at the
Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper at precisely the worst moment of all.
They were set to start at 18.00, but eventually started later than that because the players
had had a meeting with members of the Fundació Sant Joan de Déu who are researching the RETT
syndrome, and were presented with the money that was collected last season in the form of fines
paid by the players.
No Alves
Brazilian
Dani Alves did not take part. He has started work on recovery from a knee injury picked up against
Rubin Kazan and that will see him sidelined for three weeks.
Henry in isolation
Thierry Henry, is also recovering from injury, in this case to the femoral biceps
in his right leg, but he worked on his own in the company of one of the club’s fitness
coaches.
Milito and Chygrynskiy in warm-up
Josep Guardiola is also making do without Gaby Milito and Dmytro
Chygrynskiy, but in the first 15 minutes of the training session that were open to the media, both
these players could be seen in action.
