The senior squad will return to training at 11 am on Tuesday after a three-day break. However, many players will still be absent on international duty.
On Tuesday morning the senior squad will begin their preparations for Saturday’s league match
away to Athletic Club Bilbao (kick-off 10 pm). This match will be the beginning of a tough month
including vital league, European and World Club Cup action.
Messi returns
With the bulk of the international players not due back in Barcelona until Thursday,
the first session of the week will be sparsely attended. However, one player who will be available
on Tuesday is Leo Messi, who took part in Argentina’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Vicente
Calderón on Saturday.
Training match on Wednesday
A training match has also been arranged against Bolívar FC (who are in Barcelona at the
moment for a training camp) for 11 am on Wednesday. The match will be played at the Club’s
training grounds.
Internationals return
The last international matches of the week will be played on Wednesday.
Guardiola has decided to postpone Thursday training until 6 pm in order to give the returning
players the best chance of arriving in time for the session.
Final training session
The final training session of the week will be on Friday at 11 am. This will be followed by a
press conference with Josep Guardiola.
The squad will travel to Bilbao on Saturday morning at 10.30.
