Zlatan Ibrahimovic noticed a slight niggle during training on Wednesday in the back of his left thigh. The player was examined on Thursday afternoon to assess the full extent of the injury.
The player has a stretch in the back of his left hamstring and will miss the game against Atletico
Bilbao this Saturday. His progress will be monitored to asses his fitness for further games.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a similar thigh strain in the last league game against Mallorca (
4-2
) and missed the Spanish Cup game against Cultural Leonesa and a Swedish call up as
a result.
'Ibra' has played in 9 of Barca's 10 league games this season and all
four Champions League matches. He missed the league game at Valencia as a result of a knee injury
picked up playing for Sweden. He also started his time at the club with an operation on his broken
left hand, which impeded his pre-season training.
He has so far played a total of 747 minutes in the league and 367 in Europe, scoring 7 goals
in the domestic competition and 1 in the Champions League.
