Piqué and Milito miss out on Jerez trip

FC Barcelona will travel to Jerez with 19 players - 18 from the first team squad ( Piqué, Milito and Busquets miss out) and Jonathan dos Santos from Barça Atlètic.

Guardiola has decided not to take along Milito, who has only just come back after a long lay off, and rests Gerard Piqué, whilst Busquets is suspended after his red card against Madrid.

Training at the Ciutat Esportiva

The squad trained at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper this morning ahead of Wednesday's game and Guardiola put the whole first team squad through their paces, as well as Dos Santos from the reserves.

Applause for Messi, Xavi and Iniesta

The Ballon d'Or award for Messi and the third and fourth places for Xavi and Iniesta didn't go unremarked by the rest of the squad who gave the three a round of applause before the session began.

Squad travel on Wednesday to Jerez

Barca will stick to their usual plan and travel on the day of the game on Wednesday. The squad will fly out from El Prat at 11.30 and arrive at 13.10. The flight back is set for 01.15 on Thursday morning, with the players getting home at 03.00.
