Light training session in LA

The first training session of the American tour consisted of some light exercises and stretching exercises after a long and tiring journey.
Five hours after landing in Los Angeles, the players did their first training session. The fitness coaches were in charge of a series of activities that did not include the ball but focussed on reactivating and bringing back the feeling to their muscles.
Without football boots
The players arrived for the session in trainers, giving a
clear indication that it would be brief. The 35-minute session consisted mainly of stretching
exercising and jogging.
Ibrahimovic looks on
Andrés Iniesta spent some of the time working separately with one of the coaches, Emili Ricart.
Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, watched
his new team-mates from the edge of the pitch in the company of Dr Ricard Pruna. He later spent a
long time talking with director of football Txiki Begiristain.
Local interest
The training session at UCLA was closed to the general
public but there was a large group of local reporters who are following the tour of the reigning
European champions. According to the organizers, more than 200 journalists have already registered
to cover the game against LA Galaxy.
Cheerleaders in the background
A colourful and very American flavour was added to the session by the cries of a group of
cheerleaders. On nearby pitches, various groups were taking part in a State competition and their
vocal efforts could be heard from where the players were working out.
