Pedro fighting for first team spot

Barca’s young winger is enjoying some great form this pre-season and is keen to: “continue learning” with the aim of “more games and more minutes this season”, he told a press conference in Seattle.
It’s not the first time that Pedro Rodríguez has shone in pre-season – his performances
in the Tour of Scotland last summer earned him a starting place in the Champions League qualifier
against Wisla , Barca’s first official game of last season’s treble winning campaign.
Twelve months on, and with the confidence that Pep Guardiola’s backing has given him,
Pedro is looking for: “more game time to show what I can do”.
More experienced
For Pedro: “this season I’ve got more experience
and I’ve learnt a lot more. I want to keep on learning so that I can fit in with the rest of
the group and do things right when I get my chances on the pitch”. Right now, he’s more
than satisfied with the start to the season he’s made: “I’m happy, working hard
and hoping that will continue”,
Guardiola’s backing
With Hleb no longer in the squad, Pedro could
well play a bigger part in Guardiola’s plans this season as a clear option on the wing:
“the boss knows me and has always shown confidence in me. He knows what I can bring”.
Pedro’s not the only youngster impressing this summer, with Jeffren scoring again against
Seattle. As far as Pedro is concerned: “all the young players in the squad are doing really
well”.
