Sergio: “A game every 3 days is good for us”

Barça midfielder Sergio Busquets is confident the team can get through to the Spanish Cup quarter finals and insisted that it’s important that they do: “playing every three days is good for us”.
There’s hardly been time to take in the win over Llevant and
Barça are again girding up for another big game with the trip to Bilbao on Wednesday. Sergio
Busquets confirmed that the win on Sunday should serve as a boost for that game: “it’s
always important to get off to a winning start to the year. The league is all about consistency and
that’s what we are showing. The win will help us go into Wednesday’s game more
confidently”.
Cup dates
With January set to be dominated by midweek Cup games, Busquets believes:
“it’s key to our season that we stay in the cup and can keep playing a game every three
days or so. Last year when we went out to Seville, the weeks really seemed to drag by. We are used
to playing that often and it helps us maintain the dynamic of our season”.
No Margin for Error
The goalless draw in the first leg means that he game in Bilbao is vital and
Busquets admitted: “the squad know there is no margin of error in this game. We are going to
a ground where they really live the game and the fans will be behind their team for the whole 90
minutes. I hope that Bilbao aren’t as defensive as they were at the Nou Camp”.
Defensive role
Busquets played in central defence alongside Abidal for a while against
Llevant and he explained: “it was one of the options we’d worked on all last week. I
need to improve playing there, as I’m more used to going forward”.
Proud to play alongside Xavi
Sergio also praised his teammate Xavi, who equalled Migueli’s
record on Sunday, claiming: “I’m proud to play alongside him. He deserves everything. I
don’t know if I could reach his record, but I hope to make a lot of appearances and figure
amongst the best in the Club’s history”.
Busquets also had words of praise for Pedro, who came up through the B team with him,
insisting: “he’s made fantastic progress”.
