Barça have finished the first half of the season with a record 52 points from the 19 games.
For the third year on the run, Barça are Winter Champions, the 4-1 win over Malaga ensuring that
they go into the second half four points clear of rivals Real Madrid.
Seventeen wins
The team have won 17 of their 19 games, with 1 defeat and 1 draw and
have scored 61 goals, conceding only 11. The 52 points are a Spanish record (beating the 50 they
ran up in the 2008/09 season) and the side have won every one of their 9 games on the road.
Pep Guardiola’s men have also put together a run of 13 consecutive league wins and are
just one away from matching the record set by Rijkaard’s team in the 2005/06 season.
28 games unbeaten
The defeat of Malaga also marks the breaking of the Club’s record for successive games
unbeaten set in 1973/74 under Rinus Michels who went 27 games without defeat. Since the loss to
Hercules on September 11th, Barça have now gone 28 games without defeat -23 wins and 5 draws.
