Josep Guardiola has named all 188 first team players that he could plus Bartra of Barca B to travel south to Seville. The injured Alves and Puyol stay behind.
The FC Barcelona captain has knee trouble and is being dropped as precautionary measure, as
reported today by the Medical Services. The Brazilian Alves, who was injured against Malaga, is the
only other player that won’t be in the side that faces Betis, who lost the first leg 5-0.
Thiago has also been left out, after it was announced that he will be seeing out the rest of the
season with Barça B.
Bartra comes in
The squad of 19 is completed by Marc Bartra of Barça B, who was last called up for
the game against Levante (2-1), also the last time Guardiola actually fielded him was against Rubin
Kazan (2-0).
Messi back
Today’s training session started at 11.00 in the Ciutat Esportiva, and
involved both Bartra and Thiago, as well as Leo Messi, who missed Monday due to fever.
