Barça full back Adriano reckons that there are positives to be taken out of defeat to Betis that will serve as useful reference for the future.
The loss to Betis meant nothing in the long run, as Barça comfortably qualified for their fourth
semi final in five years anyway, and the players actually believe a number of positive conclusions
can be drawn from Wednesday’s defeat at the Benito Villamarín. That is precisely what last
night’s starting right back Adriano felt.
The Brazilian felt the game with Betis “taught us a lesson for the future” and
knows that the Barça fans will understand that “what was not a typical match” was just
the kind of accident that can happen in football.
Betis up for it
Adriano
was impressed with the opposition, for “it’s some time since a team faced up to Barça.
Betis are a very good side and they showed it”. As far he was concerned, the key to what
happened last night was that the Andalusians snatched two early goals.
Ready for Racing
It is
now a question of putting Wednesday night behind them. “We are looking forward to playing
Racing. We all know we lost and we want to turn the page”.
On the league situation, Adriano doesn’t thin k they should feel to confident just
because they are four points ahead of Madrid: “There is still the second half of the season
and we need to keep our feet on the ground and keep working”.

Alves out of this world
Adriano was replacing the injured Dani Alves in Seville, and speaking about his compatriot, the
former said “he is out of this world. I admire him a lot. I have seen few players with his
potential.” He hopes Alves comes to an agreement with Barça regarding his future because
“he is a crucial player for them team.” As for his own position, Adriano said
“when the boss plays me, I’ll try to do the best I can”.
