With his goal on Saturday, Pedro has now equalled his record of scoring in five consecutive league games. He’s actually bagged 7 over those five matches and totals 17 in all competitions this season so far.
Below are some more facts and figures from the Racing game:
► Of his 17 goals scored this season,
Pedro had yet to score in the first 15 minutes of a game until Saturday
night’s early goal.
► Iniesta has now beaten his own league goal scoring record and totals seven for this
season, one more than he’d ever managed before now and there are still 18 games to go!
►
Valdés and Iniesta are the only two players to start every league game so far this
season.
► Valdes’ performance was highlighted by Pep Guardiola and the keeper made three
fine stops as he chalked up his 10th clean sheet in La Liga this campaign.
►
Abidal (12) won most possession back, whilst
Iniesta (134) made most passes and
Messi(4) had most shots. The whole team committed just six fouls.
► Curiously, Barça got the same result at the Nou Camp against Racing, as they had
achieved in Santander at the start of the season. Messi and Iniesta scored then too, but this time
it was Pedro who got the other, whereas Villa scored in the away fixture.
► The game against Racing was the first one in three years at the Nou Camp in which no
yellow cards were shown. The last time that happened was on February 24th 2008 when Barça beat
Llevant 5-1.
► The win meant that
the team equalled the Club record of 14 consecutive wins set in the 2005/06
season.
► The team are fast heading for
100 goals in all competitions this season; they have so far scored 64 in the
league, 14 in the Cup, 14 in Europe and 5 in the Spanish Super Cup – 97 in total.
