Marc Guillén / Vanessa Forns
Following yesterday’s day off, the squad were back in training this morning as they prepared for Wednesday’s Cup semi final against Almeria. 17 first team squad members trained, alongside nine B team players.
After a successful weekend with the win against Alicante and Real Madrid’s defeat in Pamplona
meaning Barça are now a whole 7 points clear at the top, the squad turned their attention to the
Cup game on Wednesday after the 5-0 win from the first leg.
First of two sessions
The squad will also train ahead of the Cup game on Tuesday, when they
are due at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper at 11.00, before making the trip to Almeria on match
day itself.
Iniesta missing
There were 26 players in training, with nine B team players called in
(Planas, Armando, Benja, Nolito, Rafa Alcántara, Thiago, Abraham, Víctor Vázquez and Fontàs). Puyol
and Jeffren were working on their recoveries and the injured Iniesta, with a shoulder sprain, was
also missing. However Bojan was back with the rest of the players after he missed the game against
Hercules with a stomach upset that bothered him all last week.
