Arsenal surrender 4-0 lead (4-4)

www.fcbarcelona..cat

The Gunners’ good run came to an end with a draw at Newcastle. FC Barcelona’s next Champions League drew a game they seemed to have in the bag when they took a 4-0 lead in the first half.

Arsène Wenger’s side came out strong and had scored three goals in just ten minutes including one from Theo Walcott after just 43 seconds, the fastest Premiership goal this season. Van Persie had made it four by half time and some of the home supporters decided they’d seen enough. They were to miss the most amazing comeback in Premiership history.

Diaby off and Arsenal collapse

The Magpies were dealt some fortune when Diaby was sent off, and Arsenal were suddenly floundering. Two penalties boosted the Newcastle cause, and when Tioté scored a screamer in the 86th minute, the game ended 4-4.

Historic achievement
No side had ever managed to come back from being 4-0 down in a Premier League fixture until today. Newcastle have made history, while the Arsenal fans are left wondering just how they managed to throw away a game that they had under absolute control at half time.
