FC Barcelona have been drawn against Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League quarter finals. The first leg is at the Camp Nou on April. If Guardiola’s side qualify for the semi finals, they will meet either Real Madrid or Tottenham.
FC Barcelona’s name came our fifth in Nyon (Switzerland). And fate had it that the
Catalans will be meeting Shakhtar Donetsk, including Dmitro Chygrinski. The first leg will be at
the Camp Nou on Wednesday April 6 (between the trip to Villarreal and the visit of Almeria), while
the return will be on Tuesday April 12, four days before the visit to the Santiago Bernabéu and
after entertaining Almeria.
The other quarter finals are Madrid v Tottenham, Inter v Schalke and Chelsea v Man United.
Madrid and Tottenham in semi finals
If Guardiola’s side qualify for the semi finals, they will meet
the winner out of Real Madrid and Tottenham. The first leg would be in Madrid or London on April 26
or 27 and the second at the Camp Nou on May 3 or 4.
If the qualifiers are Madrid and Barça that would make for four clásicos in just 19 days, the
first on April 16 (League), the second on April 20 (cup final) and then the Champions League semi
finals.
Home at Wembley
If FC Barcelona were to go all the way to the final at Wembley on May 28, they would act as
the ‘home’ side. That final would be against Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter or
Schalke 04.
