Messi in the penultimate session
Marc Guillén / Anna Segura
Leo Messi, who has been recovering from a right knee injury, was back at training today. He was able to exercise as normal in the penultimate training session before the Getafe match.
The Barça players didn’t want to miss the Champions League quarter final draw at 12.00, and
so training was moved forward to 10.30 today. There were eighteen players involved at the Ciutat
Esportiva for the second to last session before Saturday’s game at the Camp Nou against
Getafe (20.00).
Argentinian fit
After Adriano and Alves were back on Thursday after getting over their own
problems, on Friday Leo Messi was welcomed back to normal routine. For the last few days he has
been getting over a nasty sprained knee.
Four missing
Pedro, with a hernia, Maxwell, with a groin strain, and Puyol were all out for
fitness reasons, as well as Abidal, who successfully underwent surgery for a liver tumour on
Thursday.
With so many absentees, Guardiola drew on defender Andreu Fontàs, who will be a member of the
first team until the end of the season, and also right back Martín Montoya.
Saturday at Camp Nou
The FC Barcelona players have another session on Saturday at 11.30 in the Camp Nou.
This will be behind closed doors and will be the last session before the Getafe match.
