Bojan Krkic became the youngest Barça player to reach 100 La Liga appearances on Saturday when he marked the occasion with what proved to be the winning goal against Getafe.
Bojan’s la Liga stats
Season 10/11: 23 games, 5 goals
Season 09/10: 23 games, 8 goals
Season 08/09: 23 games, 2 goals
Season 07/08: 31 games, 10 goals
Last week’s game in Seville made it 99 and last night Bojan reached his century, starting the
game and scoring Barça’s second. Although he’s still only 20, the Catalan youngster has
stats that would do a veteran proud.
Beats Messi’s record
At the age of 20 years, 6 months and 19 days, Bojan became the youngest Barça
player to reach the 100 La Liga game mark, beating the previous best of Leo Messi, who made his
hundredth appearance when he was 21 years and 250 days old.
Debut in Pamplona
He played his first game on September 16th 2007 in a goalless draw against Osasuna
in Pamplona and he scored his first goal of the competition in week eight of that year in the 3-1
defeat to Villarreal.
Born goalscorer
Since then the Barça number 9 has shown his goalscoring instinct with 25 goals in
those 100 games , the latest coming on 49 minutes against Getafe when he cut inside from the right
and his shot deflected in off a defender. That made it 2-0 and with Getafe pulling one back towards
the end, it proved to be the winner.
Almeria suffer most
It’s Almeria though, who have suffered most at the hands, or rather the feet
and the head, of Bojan -he has scored 5 times against them. His next favourite victims are Bilbao,
against whom he’s scored three times.
