Valdés reaches 400
www.fcbarcelona.cat
Keeper Víctor Valdés made his 400th first team appearance on Saturday and showed that he is enjoying one of the best moments of form of his entire career.
Only Zubizarreta has played more games between the sticks for the Club and it was fitting that in
the game against Osasuna, Valdes should mark his 400th game by wearing the captain’s armband
and keeping a clean sheet for the 9th time this season. In all, Valdes has conceded just 317 goals
in those 400 games (an average of 0,80 goals a game).
Best figures yet
Valdés has reached the 400 mark in his ninth season with the first team and this year he is
showing his best ever figures, with just 22 goals conceded in 38 games - an average of 0,58 goals a
game compared with last season’s record breaking 0,67 - and is once again on course for the
Zamora trophy.
Only Xavi and Puyol have played more
Of the current squad, only Xavi and Puyol have made more appearances than Valdes,
with Andres Iniesta immediately behind the keeper in terms of games played.
