Josep Guardiola’s staff have introduced a new dynamic to the pre-season routine by organising team dinners after training everyday, when the players and technical staff get together.
The dinners include plenty of carbohydrates to help the players recover from the day’s hard
work as the squad and the back room staff come together to round off the day.
First dinner on Tuesday
The dinners began on Tuesday night once
training had finished as the whole squad and the back room staff sat down to eat together.
It’s a routine that the squad will maintain at least until the Tour of Asia.
Food closely monitored
The aim of the dinners is to help create a group dynamic and also ensure
a healthy pre-season diet for the players during a period of especially hard physical training,
which is closely supervised by the club doctors.

Lunch replaced by dinner
Over the last two seasons, Guardiola has always had the players lunching together in pre-season,
but this year, with training beginning earlier, at 09.00, the boss decided to introduce dinner
together at 21.00 once the evening training session has finished.
