Pinto to miss Saturday’s game

José Manuel Pinto will take no part in Saturday’s match against Sevilla in the Sánchez Pizjuán. The goalkeeper felt some discomfort during the final part of Wednesday evening’s training session and had to limp off before the end.
Later on Wednesday evening the Club’s medical services announced that Pinto has an injury in
his right thigh. He will definitely not be available for Saturday’s match and his progress
over the next few days will determined the length of his recovery process.
Plenty of action this summer
Fans will remember that Pinto has been one of the players most used by manager Pep Guardiola
in the three matches played so far this summer. He played 45 minutes against both Valerenga and the
K-League eleven and the whole 90 minutes against Guoan. The fact that Valdes has only just retuned
from his summer holiday meant that Pinto had a good chance of taking the keeper’s jersey for
the Super Cup match.
