Villa makes Camp Nou bow

Anna Segura

David Villa now knows what it is like to play in Camp Nou and wear the FC Barcelona shirt after the Asturian striker made his home debut for the Blaugrana in the Spanish Super Cup triumph over Sevilla on Saturday evening.

After winning the World Cup last month Villa can now write August 21, 2010 into his career history after fulfilling what he has claimed is a lifelong dream as he appeared for Barça in a home game for the first time since his transfer from Valencia earlier in the summer.

Minute 56

Standing ovation

2010-08-21_PARTIDO_21.JPGThe Barça fans rose to their feet as one and gave a loud cheer as Villa ran onto the pitch. There was to be no heroic goal to announce his arrival, but the forward had his chances and had a hand in the move that led to the fourth goal of the evening.
