Messi equals Rivaldo and Eto’o
Roger Bogunyà
Lionel Messi’s hat-trick in the Spanish Super Cup on Saturday evening took his goals tally to 130 for FC Barcelona as he drew level with club legends Rivaldo and Sameul Eto’o.
The Argentinian has netted the huge tally of official goals in a short time and that has been
speeded up by his incredible record of six hat-tricks, which included a four-goal haul in the
Champions League against Arsenal.
Scoring charts
After beating Sevilla keeper Andrés Palop three times in the Super Cup
(
4-0
) to help Barça win their first trophy of the season, Messi drew level with Rivaldo
and Eto’o on 130 goals for the Catalan club. He still has some way to go before reaching the
club’s all-time record scorer César Rodríguez who netted 235. Ladislao Kubala scored 194,
Josep Samitier 178, Josep Escolà 164, Paulino Alcánatara 137 and Ángel Arocha 134.

three against Tenerife, Valencia, Real Zaragoza, Sevilla and Arsenal in 2010.
Palop favourite
Sevilla keeper Andrés Palop is Messi’s favourite as he has beaten
him on no les than 11 occasions with eight goals in the league and three in the Super Cup. Iker
Casillas is second with Messi have scored seven against him.
