Training restricted to senior squad
Edgar Fornós / Vanessa Forns
The Barça squad returned to training on Monday morning to prepare the Joan Gamper match against AC Milan on Wednesday and the league debut against Racing Santander next Sunday. The session was restricted to the 22 players of the senior squad.
It was back to work early on Monday morning for the senior squad after their triumph against
Sevilla on Saturday. They now have to focus on the Joan Gamper match against AC Milan and next
Sunday’s league opener away to Racing Santander.
Rest for the reserves
Unlike previous sessions this summer, there were no players from the
reserve squad. On Sunday the reserves took on Girona and so were given Monday off. However, Josep
Guardiola was able to work with a full contingent of 22 senior players.
Two groups
After the usual warm-up jogging and stretching, the group divided into
two for a series of leg muscle strengthening routines and circuit training.
A visit from Diego Simeone
Today’s session had a distinguished spectator in the person former
Argentina, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid star Diego Simeone. Last season he managed Argentine club
San Lorenzo de Almagro and this morning spent some time talking with fellow countryman Milito.
