Robinho: "Barça are the best"
Jesús Carrillo
Robinho could not hide his admiration for the current FC Barcelona side as he trained at the Catalan club’s Ciutat Esportiva training complex with the Brazil national team.
“Barça are ahead of every team in world football,” he said. “They are and will be
the favourites, like always, while they still have these players. The way they play is a reference
for everyone around the world.”
Quality squad
The former Real Madrid star enjoys watching Pep Guardiola’s team. “It is
great to see them play and see how they prepare and how they are so comfortable as they win
games,” Robinho continued. “They have quality in every position.”
Having joined AC Milan from Manchester City last week Robinho explained how happy he is now.
“I am delighted with my new team,” he stated. “On paper with Ibra, Pato and
Ronaldinho we have a very good forward line, but we do have to show it in every game.”
Golden Ball
Dani Alves is enjoying the training camp on his home turf. “It is special for
me to be here with my national team and my team-mates,” he commented. “It is the best
training complex and we are working here until Tuesday.” On which player could win the Ballon
d’Or. “I agree with Xavi and think that [Lionel] Messi is ahead of everyone else in the
world,” he continued. “If they choose a player from the Spain squad because they are
world champions then I would like to see it be either Xavi or Andrés Iniesta.”
Contract talk
On his possible contract renewal Alves added: “I am not worried about it at
all. I have a contract and am settled so if they propose something then fantastic, but if not then
that is fine.”
