Messi definitely out for at least two games

After an MRI taken this morning at the Hospital de Barcelona, doctors have concluded that Leo Messi has a sprain in the internal and external ligaments of his right ankle, but confirmed that there is no damage to the bones.
Leo Messi will definitely miss the matches against Sporting and Bilbao this week after doctors
confirmed their earlier diagnosis following the nasty foul he received from Ujfalusi on Sunday. His
availability after these two games will depend on how he recovers from the injury.
Muscle injuries
Leo Messi has suffered a number of injuries in his six years with the first team.
One of his first occurred in the 2005-06 Champions League game against Chelsea, when he suffered a
muscle injury that put him out of the final part of the season, as Rijkaard’s team went on to
win their Champions League and La Liga double.
Two years later in another Champions League tie, this time against Celtic, Messi suffered a
similar injury which put him out for six weeks. That season he’d also been injured in a game
against Valencia in Mestalla, which saw him sat on the sidelines for just over a month.
Broken metatarsal
Maybe his most serious injury came in the game against Zaragoza in November 2006 when he
fractured a metatarsal bone in his left foot, which put him out for three months.
