Xavi and Puyol, who missed training on Monday, were back on Tuesday for the session at the Camp Nou, but the injured Milito was absent.
The Champions League was back on everybody’s minds at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, with press
conferences prior to the match with Copenhagen by Messi and Guardiola, and a training session on
the stadium turf.
Xavi and Puyol back
All eyes were on Xavi and Puyol, who were both back in action. Puyol
was briefly sidelined with a groin strain, while Xavi is still not fully recovered from an injury
to his Achilles tendon. But they were both able to come to the Camp Nou, and joined in with 100% of
the exercises.
Thiago for Milito
But Gaby Milito was way after picking up an injury on Monday that sees him out for
two weeks. Guardiola decided it would be a good idea to bring in reserve Thiago Alcántara to
bolster the squad
Guardiola gets involved
One image that the media pounced on was that of Josep Guardiola joining
in with one of the warm-up drills. The Barça manager showed he still has it in him, although the
squad made him sweat to win the ball in the typical possession exercise.
Off to Hotel W
As usual for European fixtures, the players are all staying together at Hotel W in
Barcelona. On Wednesday at 12.00, they will have one last training session at the Camp Nou before
returning to the hotel. They then have to report to the Camp Nou again at 18.30 for the final
preparations for the game with Copenhagen.
