Close to the next stage

Despite missing out on the chance to clinch qualification for the next phase of the Champions League when being held in Copenhagen on Tuesday evening, the point earned pushed Barça towards achieving that goal.
The Blaugrana remain in pole position to make it through to the knock-out round and only need
another point from their remaining two league game. The draw will be held on December 17 for the
following stage and Pep Guardiola's team could have already booked their place, but a spirited
Danish side and the woodwork prevented them from doing to.
Greek win
Barça's next game in the Champions League will be in Greece when they
take on Panathinaikos and that will not be an easy encounter for the 2009 European champions.
Playing in Greece is always seen as a tough test, but the Catalan outfit will head there knowing
that victory would mean that they could play the last group match without any pressure. First place
would be gained if Copenhagen then drew or lost in Kazan against Rubin.
If both group games are drawn on matchday five of the Champions League then both Barça and
Copenhagen would make it to the next stage and it would go down to the last matchday to determine
who finishes top of the group.
One more point
If Barça do not win in Greece next time out then Guardiola's side would need to
obtain a point on the last matchday against Rubin in Camp Nou to book their place.
