Iniesta enjoying great form
Edgar Fornós
Andrés Iniesta continues to show with every game what a great player he is. When he clicks, so do the team and with his return from the injuries which interrupted last season, he is back to his best.
We’re not yet at the half way point of the season and it’s maybe too soon to draw too
many conclusions, but one thing that is certainly undeniable is that Andres Iniesta is back and is
looking even better than he did at the same point last year.
More quantity and quality
Quality and quality don’t always go together, but this season
Iniesta has gone a step further in both ways with more games and even more impressive stats in the
first 11 games of the season in which he is the only outfield player to figure in all the games.
More time on the pitch
Iniesta has so far played in 16 official games, two more than at the same stage
last season and put in a total of 1.347 minutes, 529 more than in 2009. He has also scored twice,
against Racing and Valencia, when at the same stage last year he’d only scored once
–curiously enough also against Racing.
