The Spanish Cup last 16 draw held this lunchtime has thrown together Barça and Athletic Bilbao, with the first leg to be played at the Camp Nou the week before Christmas and the return on January 5th or 6th at the San Mames.
In a re-run of the 2009 final held in Valencia when Barça won 1-4, Guardiola’s team will face
Cup experts Bilbao in the last 16. The first game of the two-legged tie will be held the week
before Christmas at the Camp Nou, with the exact dates to be confirmed and the return at San Mames
on January 5th or 6th.
Quarter final against, Betis or Getafe
If Barça get through against Bilbao, they will face either Betis or Getafe in the quarter
finals, to be played during the weeks of 12th and 19th January, with the first leg again at the
Camp Nou.
Almeria, Mallorca, Còrdova or Deportivo, in the semis
If that tie is won, Barça could face Almeria, Mallorca, Cordoba or Deportivo in the semis,
set for the weeks of January 26th and February 2nd.
The Cup Final is scheduled for 20th April
This season the Cup Final will be played on the 20th April and if Barça go all the way, they
could be up against Valencia, Villarreal, Real Madrid, Levante, Atlético de Madrid, Espanyol,
Sevilla or Malaga, who are all placed in the other half of the draw.
