Plan of a long week
www.fcbarcelona.cat
FC Barcelona are preparing for a busy week that could see them end the month of November with a place in the next round of the Champions League secured and first place in la Primera recovered.
After the incredible win against Almería coach Pep Guardiola chose to give his players a day off
before they return on Monday to prepare for a tough seven days of action that starts with a trip to
Greece to meet Panathinaikos in Europe and then return home to take on Real Madrid in el Clàsico.
Greece bound
The Barça first team will train again on Monday at 11:00 at the Ciutat Esportiva
Joan Gamper and Bojan Krkic will then attend a press conference. That is the only session that the
players will have before they fly to Athens at 09:30 on Tuesday and will land in the Greek city at
13:20.
Next round
FC Barcelona will train in the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday evening at
19:30 and will not work out on the day of the game as Guardiola sometimes chooses to do. Instead,
the focus will be on a game that could see the Blaugrana book their place in the first knockout
round of the Champions League.
Thursday off
Straight after the game in Athens the team will return to Barcelona and the
coaching staff have opted to let the players rest on Thursday. Instead, preparations for the visit
of Madrid will begin on Friday.
Four sessions
Including Friday, Barça will train four times before el Clàsico as they will also
work on Saturday, Sunday and the morning of the match itself. The last training session will take
place at Camp Nou at 11:30. The last aim for November will be to beat Real Madrid and go top of the
table once again.
