The Catalan, who started the game with Napoli, scored his first goal for Barça and admitted he was proud to do so.
The Joan Gamper Trophy match with Napoli was Cesc’s second game, and the first in the
starting eleven. And he celebrated with his first goal for Barça since signing for the club last
week. But he said he will remember it forever “just like I remember the last goal I scored
for the Barça junior team”.
United squad
Cesc thoroughly enjoyed being back with so many friends, and told the “El
Marcador” programme on Barça TV that “the squad seems more united than ever.” He
also praised Messi, saying he has never seen a player quite like him and added that “union
builds strength and that clearly shows on the pitch”.
Practice for European Supercup
According to Cesc, “this year we have a lot of challenges and the first is on
Friday … but I hope to keep improving and enjoying myself with the team.” The Gamper
was an excellent testing ground prior to the European Supercup, but Cesc still feels “I have
a lot to learn”.
