“We deserved the points”

The B team players were unanimous that their performance against Elche certainly deserved the three points their 2-0 win gave them.
The win
, and the way the game was won, was a clear demonstration of the team’s
determination to maintain their own style of play, despite last week’s heavy defeat.
According to midfielder Carlos Carmona: “we had a slip up against Cartagena and it was
important to win this one to put any doubts behind us. That is the level we have to continue to
play at”.
Carmona pleased with performance
“We knew Elche would be a tough team and it wouldn’t be
easy. They were very well organised at the back and they pressured us well”, went on
Carmona.”I’m happy with the way the team played, we worked pretty well, put in the
performance we had to and thoroughly deserved the three points”.
Clean sheet
It was a good night for keeper Rubén Miño, who kept
the first clean sheet of the season
and he commented: “it was a tough game, but if you can stop the other team from
scoring, as we did, that means anything you can convert up front will give you a win”.
Second half improvement
Striker Jonathan Soriano, who bagged the opening goal reckoned: “we played a better
second half. They pressured us a lot in the first half and it wasn’t easy to push forward,
but in the second we were better, faster and created more chances”.
Confidence key
For centre half Marc Muniesa: “they were a tough team, well
prepared at the back and able to stop us coming out with the ball. We got that first goal though
and that gave our confidence a boost. We then played our game and took the points”.
