Barça B boss Luis Enrique Martínez recognised the importance of his team’s win at Alcorcon on Sunday and reckons “we were the better team in general”.
Luis Enrique analysed the game and claimed: “we tried to play the
game in our part of the pitch, where we are strongest. We did that well in the first half and we
had some chances and went ahead. We put in a great first half, but in the first 15 minutes of the
second half we weren’t at the level needed – in part because of Alcorcon upping their
game, they had the game where they wanted it and they laid siege to our area. That made it hard for
us, but we gradually began to make more dangerous counter attacks and finally, two good moves won
us the game”.
For the manager: “that was a really positive game and result for
us after losing at home last week and it helps us to carry on accumulating points and getting the
confidence we need. Nobody had won here before and that obviously gives us a boost. We’d not
lost at home till the
Huesca
game, so one thing cancels out the other!”
One of the players making his debut was keeper Jordi Masip and Luis
Enrique explained: “I’ve got three very good keepers and I’ll decide with each
game who plays. Masip played very well and I’m very happy for him because he’s in a
tough situation where he’s not getting many chances to play. We are looking to be a complete
group a strong group who can count on any member at any time. I want them all to feel important.
It’s not always easy or pleasant, but today it went really well “.
