Two points escape from the Mini (1-1)
Berta Brau
Igualada scored a last gasp equaliser against Barça B to take two points away from the Miniestadi. It’s the first time Guardiola’s youngsters have conceded a home draw this season and comes on the back of a three-match winning run.
The FC Barcelona reserve side played well but were hit by an equaliser in injury time. Igualada won
promotion this season and have started the campaign well.
45 minutes of Barça dominance
Barça B dominated possession in the first half and created a number of dangerous attacking
moves. The opening minutes were all Barça and the goal was inevitable.
Guerra again
The Barça B striker is in goal scoring form at the moment and he added
to his tally in the 15th minute thanks to a pass from Rueda. Emilio Guerra has now scored five in
seven matches. Barça B went in at half time winning 1-0.
An intense second half
Igualada reacted well after the break and tested Oier Olazábal in the Barça B goal a number
of times. The contest took on a different aspect as the visitors upped the pace of their game and
held their share of possession. The atmosphere became tenser with some physical play, leading to
more fouls, and the referee was finally forced to red card the Igualada manager Martí Alavedra.
Changes and penalty
Guardiola made his first substitution in the 55th minute, replacing Marc
Valiente – who had a slight knock – with Dimas. In the 71st minute the referee gave a
penalty for a foul on Pedrito. Victor Vázquez took the spot kick but it was saved by Igualada
keeper Ander. Guardiola then brought on Thiago for his third division debut.
A tight finish
Igualada continued to create danger on the counterattack but Barça B defended firmly until
Brullet got the equaliser in injury time. The final draw leaves Barça B with 14 points.
