With seven matches left before the playoffs, Barça Atlètic have taken a point away to Gavà (1-1). The two goals in a match full of chances came from Keko and Nolito.
Both goals came after the break but there could have been many more. Some good work in defence by
the home side prevented Luis Enrique’s men from taking the three points.
Chances but no goals
Another solid defensive performance from the home side – Gavà has
only conceded one goal in last seven home matches – kept Barça Atlètic at bay in the first
half, and despite Barça’s dominance, the visitors failed to convert any of their chances.
Thiago had three efforts on goal: the first hit the post in the 16th minute; the second went just
wide in the 25th; and the third hit the other post in the 33rd.
Two goals in a minute
After the break, the chances kept on flowing. Nolito came close in the
57th minute and five minutes later Keko converted a free kick to make it 1-0.
There was no time for local celebrations as Barça equalised straight from the kick-off
through Nolito, whose diagonal shot cannoned in off the far post. Barça Atlètic dominated the
closing minutes of the match but despite good efforts from Benja and Gai could not take all three
points.
