Falqué joins Juventus

Iago Falqué has left Brça Atlètico to sign for Juventus B team after spendng the last seven seasons rising through the ranks of the youth system at Camp Nou.


The youngster has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal with La Vecchia Signora after his move from the Blaugrana. The Spanish midfielder will play in Juve's second team, which in Italy is known as the Primavera side.

Financial gains

QM3D0086.jpgBarça could earn up to €2.5m should a series of performance related payments be met by the player, including if Falqué makes a certain number of first team appearance and also plays in the Champions League. The Blaugrana will also retain 25 per cent of the players rights for the next four seasons and would be entitled to a quarter of any transfer fee should move again during that time.

Rising star

After moving to FC Barcelona in the 2001-02 campaign, Falqué played under coach Sergio Lobera and alongside Bojan Krkic for much of his time at the club. Both began to rise through the ranks until making their debuts with the Juvenil A side in 2005-06-

Youth team

While Bojan stepped up to join Barça B a season later, Falqué remained in the Juvenil A team and only began to train with the B side under Luis Enrique in pre-season. But after a few weeks he opted to take up Juve's offer and moved to Italy.

Iago Falqué's mother, Carmela Silva, was recently promoted to beome the spokesperson for the state for the PSOE political party.
