2nd victory in a row for Barça Atlètic against Badalona. The game was decided from the penalty spot, with goal-keeper Miño man-of-the-match in the Mini-Estadi after saving two penalties in the last fifteen minutes.
Barça Atlètic has been effective again in their victory over Badalona. The game began with few
chances for either team until Abraham’s fifteenth-minute cross nearly went in.
Maric Scores
The Blaugrana goal arrived in the 29th minute when Nolito centred and,
after a rebound, Maric managed to slot the ball home.
After the goal, Longás nearly took Rubén by surprise with a long-range shot, but the Badalona
keeper tipped it out for a corner.
Badalona React
The star of the second half was undoubtedly Miño. Firstly, he pulled off
a great save from a powerful shot by Diego Torres in the 47th minute. Then Luis Enrique’s men
suffered their first fright when, after some great individual ball-play, Luis Blanco shot from
outside the area just passed over the crossbar. Badalona continued to create danger but
Barça’s defence was able to close down Badalona’s attempts at creative play.
Miño saves two penalties in last 15 minutes
In the 77th minute, young keeper Miño once again showed his mettle by
saving a cross from Diego Torres. Straight after, the referee blew for a penalty against Héctor
Verdés on Xavi Molist. Camaña’s weak spot-kick went straight into Miño’s hands. Little
did he know that he would have a second attempt at saving a penalty in the Mini-Estadi, but he
managed to read the direction of David Prats’ penalty, pulling off a great save. The
Blaugrana keeper’s star performance has helped Luis Enrique’s men to climb out of the
lower reaches of the league. Finally, in added time, Barça were one man down after Longás was sent
off after a second yellow card. Next week, Barça Atlètic plays away to Terrassa.
