Unfair draw (0-0)
Edgar Fornós
Barça Atlètic and Gavà have drawn 0-0 at the Miniestadi. Luis Enrique’s side dominated from the start and enjoyed a number of chances throughout the game.
Barça have now gone four games without defeat but will still feel they deserved more than a point
from their encounter with Gavà. They created chance after chance while Gavà did almost nothing to
deserve the away point, having created very little in the way of trouble for home keeper Ruben
Miño.
Wasted opportunities
Barça Atlètic piled on the pressure throughout the first 45
minutes, but despite such good intent, Luis Enrique and his players eventually had nothing to
celebrate. A Xavi Torres strike was saved brilliantly, and there were also clear-cut opportunities
for Pedro, who twice shot wide, and for Maric, whose effort was from just too narrow an angle.
Gavà looked happy to defend, and other than a single effort from Tarradelles, did nothing to
trouble the home side.
More of the same
Barça Atlètic continued wreaking havoc on Oscar’s goal
in the second half, once again with no reward. Nolito sent the ball onto the post after brilliantly
turning his defender, and minutes later Maric looked like he had finally broken the deadlock, but
luck simply was not on his side.
A couple of free kicks from Víctor Vázquez and Rochina were both heading in, but the Gavà
keeper was just too quick, and with just seconds to go, young Ruben Rochina tried a desperate long
range effort, but couldn’t find the net either.
Ninety minutes of superiority from Barça Atlètic eventually ended with nothing to show for it
other than a point that the home fans will surely think should have been three.
