FCB Escola doubles the participation in its campuses
Vanessa Forns
Barça’s footballing activity has not stopped for thousands of young people this summer who will be enjoying FCB Escola soccer schools in different parts of the world.
Over the next few weeks, a total of 30 official campuses in 13 different countries and 3 continents
will be welcoming more than 4,300 participants. That’s twice last year’s number, when
there were 2,200 participants in 18 different campuses. This consolidated expansion of official
campuses managed by the FCB Escola and Barça is an excellent way of promoting the club’s
footballing ideals.
Barça philosophy with club coaches
The campuses all last about a week. Children of
both sexes aged from 6 to 14 years take part and learn basic skills and tactics as well as fitness
issues in accordance with the FC Barcelona philosophy and methodology. All of the activities are
overseen by coaches that form part of the club structure.
13 permanent schools
As well as the summer camps, FC Barcelona also runs
13 permanent schools around the world that are attended by 2,300 young people. These schools are in
Mexico (DF, León, Puebla, Monterrey, Cancún and Chihuahua), Egypt (Cairo – 2 schools),
Kuwait, Dubai, Hong Kong Fukuoka (Japan) and Lima (Peru), which will be starting its activities
this summer.
