Japan school celebrates first season
Jaume Marcet
The FCB School in Fukuoka, Japan is celebrating the end of its first season which has proven to be a great success as 250 youngsters have benefitted from the education and sporting activities.
To mark the occasion the school has produced a video that shows all the work that has been done at
the complex since the opening on September 1, 2009.
Barça philosophy
Following the same line as the FCB School itself, the director of the Fukuoka
centre, Ivan Palanco, has worked hard to bond the children and help them to learn at several levels
through football. With psychological, physical, technical and tactical training the aim is to
educate the kids in such areas as friendship, solidarity, hard work and respect.
Three ages
The children at the school are divided into three groups by age with those up to
eight being in one, eight to ten year olds in another and kids from ten to 12 in the other. All
three groups train for 75 minutes twice a week on the artificial pitch at the centre.
Barça for all
As well as the actual training sessions, the students at the FCB School also have access to
physiotherapy, a library, audiovisual things where they can learn both Spanish and Catalan. A Barça
For All day is held every fortnight too when parents, children and coaches can all meet.
