Barça Mobicat have reached an agreement with former Caja Segovia star Carlos Muñoz to join the club until 2010, but he will not be able to make his debut until next year.
The winter transfer window does open until January 1, 2009 and that is when Muñoz will finally make
his move to the Blaugrana official. The Madrilenian has agreed a deal to move to the Catalan outfit
for the rest of the current season the whole of the next one.
Speaking to Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat, the latest addition the Mobicat-sponsored team
said that he is “proud as any player would be” to sign for the czlub and added that
“all my expectations are now fulfilled.”
Previous teams
Muñoz reached the agreement to join Barça after mutually
rescinding his contract, that ran until the end of the current campaign, with Caja Segovia where he
spent the last two seasons. He came through the ranks at Carnicer Torrejón, where he played for
seven years, between 1999/00 and 2005/06.
Starting training
Now Muñoz will have to spend some time without playing while he waits to be officially
allowed to sign for Barcelona in January. Until then he will train with his new team-mates and
learn all about the tactics and their way of playing. “The worst thing is signing at this
time because the World Cup is coming up and I will be unable to play for two months. That will be
noticed.”
Praising new team-mates
Looking at his new colleagues, Muñoz was full of praise for the players he will be teaming up
with. “There is a greta squad and in the last couple of years they have started to move
up,” he said. “They are a big club that will be aiming to win a cup and reach the
league play-offs.”
