Barça defence leads to impressive victory (0-5)

Fernandao scored a hat-trick for Barça Mobicat as they recorded an important victory against Playas de Castellón in a game that saw their defence stand out. Paco Sedano and Javi Rodríguez also netted to complete the scoreline.
What was predicted to be one of their most difficult away games turned out to be a comfortable
victory thanks to a convincing display from Marc Carmona’s outfit. Fernandao was the star at
the front, as his three goals make him the league’s top scorer with 12, while the back line
stood firm against a spirited home team that never stopped looking to pull themselves back into the
game.
The Blaugrana knew that their opponents were good on the counter-attack and set themselves up
accordingly. That tactic worked well and ensured that Playas de Castellón were unable to score
against a well disciplined rearguard.
Fernandao shines
In the opening period the attacking prowess that Barça were to produce was not in evidence as
the forwards started slowly and only managed to score once, through Fernandao before the half-time
interval.
But the Brazilian found his feet after the break and went on to score twice more in the
second period. The first flew in off the post while his second was volley that left Rafa, in the
opposition goal, with no chance.
Two more
In the closing minutes, Playas de Castelón chose to push forward and that left Barça with
time and space to find their way to goal on two more occasions, while keeping their opponents out
at the other end. Sedano added a fourth and then a minute later Barça captain Rodríguez netted
another to put the result beyond doubt.
