Barça Alusport lost the fourth game of the league play offs and will have to face Segovia again in the fifth and final match at the Palau next weekend. An early opener and a second goal just before the break set up the Segovia win.

Caja Segovia made a dream start when on just 21 seconds, Geison fired them ahead to round off a
good team move. After a more muted reception from the fans than on Friday, the crowd at the Pedro
Delgado Hall now erupted with excitement and Geison nearly rewarded them with a second soon after
with a dangerous free kick.
Barça Alusport reaction
A Carlos effort just cleared by Antoñito and an individual action from
Saad that was just saved by Cidão were the first signs of a reaction from Barça as Saad, Fernandão,
Torras and Javi began to dig deep and pull the team back into the game. Caja Segovia were looking
threatening on the break though and Cristian was being kept busy.
The hosts had learnt the lesson of Friday’s defeat and with Barça getting less
possession, they needed to take advantage of their chances –something Fernandao was unable to
do in a one on one with his fellow Brazilian Cidão.
Meanwhile, Cristian saved well from Esquerdinha, as Matías and Lozano continued to trouble
the Barça defence and from a free kick Sergio Lozano made it two for the hosts just before the
break, after what looked again like holding on the Barça defence.
Lin goal gives Barça hope
Fernandão came close at the start of the second half, as did Torras and
Lin as Barça put the pressure on with some constant attacking. Matias hit the woodwork for Segovia
and the hosts seemed to have weathered the storm when Lin popped up to silence his ex-team’s
crowd with a well hit free kick and close the gap to a single goal.
With Igor forced off with a muscle injury, Barça went into the last 10 minutes looking to
take the game by the scruff of the neck, but it was Segovia who got the next goal, a well hit shot
from Borja, after Wilde had come close to equalising with an individual effort.
Barça played with an outfield keeper and using Javi Rodríguez to give them the extra man,
they created chances, but Geison made it four with two minutes to go and Saad’s late
consolation came too late to make much difference, so next Saturday the two teams will meet again
in the decisive game at the Palau.
